Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer reported that cop killer Maurice Clemmons was shot dead early this morning.

According to CBC Newsnet and FOX News report that this incident happened around 2:30am PT.

Last night police forces were going after relatives who had been helping Clemmons.

Clemmons had vowed Saturday that he would kill some cops.  He did just that on Sunday morning.

This ends the manhunt for this criminal who had been involved in crime since 1989.

Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says Maurice Clemmons was shot and killed early Tuesday in a Seattle neighborhood. Authorities suspected Clemmons of killing the four officers at a coffee shop Sunday morning in Lakewood, a suburb about 35 miles south of Seattle.

Troyer says Seattle police found Clemmons after Pierce County authorities supplied addresses of possible hiding spots.

Clemmons was shot in a working-class Seattle neighborhood.  Police found him using information about possible hiding spots.  Apparently shots were fired.  Clemmons was killed.  Troyer said that they were glad that the Seattle Police officer is ok.

Ed Troyer reported later that six arrests had been made of people that aided Clemmons to avoid capture.  They are investigating a few more.

He was killed in a working-class neighborhood after police found him using information about possible hiding spots supplied by Pierce County investigators, Troyer said.

"Shots were fired," Troyer told "Fox & Friends" Tuesday. "We're very happy that the Seattle police officer is OK. ... This could have turned out a lot worse."

Sgt. Mark Renninger, 39, and Officers Ronald Owens, 37, Tina Griswold, 40, and Greg Richards, 42, were the victims of Sunday's shooting spree.

Troyer told Fox police arrested three people overnight on suspicion of rendering criminal assistance.

I think they.re  still going after the remaining people that may have harboured him.

I heard it first on CBC television and then started looking for the story.  Finally found a print copy on Fox News.  I also commented on snuffys story when the news first broke.

Fox had news?

to think that some were pointing at terrorism when we got some guy that just hated the police and I would say well into the drug scene

I agree Babel, just a case of a guy whose mind was mixed up with whatever he was taking.  He had 20 years to have his mind distorted.  This case has now also been politicized because his sentence was commuted.

Now to seek out those who helped this murderer escape~

I think they made some progress last night.  We should see a few people charged.

When can we begin holding such organizations as the ACLU who every time a black person is imprisoned after being found guilty in a court of law, say they are innocent, putting in motion for such politicians as Huckabee to give clemency to violent criminals as Clemmons clearly was? This is a tragedy, and my prayers go out to the cops family's killed by this monster.

They have rounded up six of them now and they expect to arrest and charge 7 others.

Anyone who willingly harbored this creep are as culpable and deranged as Clemmons.  Toss them in jail and throw away the key!

Huckaby needs to be kicked down a couple pegs, instead of saying something inane like; "This could never have been foreseen 9 years ago. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the families."  He goes into CMA mode and says if there is blame it is the criminal justice system but not just mine, Washington too. Anything else that comes out of his office is meaningless.

Mr Former Governor, maybe you are forgetting the prison system and everyone in it was under your command...
