CLIMATEGATE Brainless Protesters BBC News at Ten 16-12-2009

Protesters at the climate summit have been in further clashes with Danish police today, amid further complaints about excessive use of force by the authorites.

Police have forced back hundreds of protesters who tried to break through a perimeter fence at the UN climate summit venue in Copenhagen.

The Bella Centre, where the conference is taking place, has now been shut off, with no-one allowed to enter or leave.

Activists have been angered by lack of progress on a new climate deal and also by restrictions on access to the talks.

Meanwhile, African countries have softened their demands for climate finance from rich nations.

With the late announcement today that there was unlikely to be "a workable agreement" from the attending countries, it may well be that we will see an escaltion in the unrest and the feelings of being let down once again, and a further display of peoples unhappiness.
