When it comes to politics, it the 26 County type (hopefully soon 32 county) that I know about and yes, I given my life to fighting the English Colonial Establishment literally in the fight for freedom including doing a bit of time for being a member of a certain organisation perhaps nest not mentioned here. That's why I am a sucker for the underdog. Now I see a way out from colonial domination for Scotland post the 2010 referendum on independependence and I hope they have the guts to go for it. Similarly with Wales, the ball is now rolling and bearing in mind, once a nation has picked that ball up, it has never given it back, ever. It is for that reason that I grieve for my dear friends, and I mean friends for I have many there, the Cornish. Cornwall's boundary with the rump of the new English state was fixed as far back as 936AD but eventually ignored by the arrogant and bloodthirsty greedy English who craved for its great wealth in tin and copper and set about raping the little land. That rape still occurs for Cornwall, or Kernow as it should be correctly called, provides the massive private income to Charles Saxe Coburg Gotha Windsor, aka Duke of Cornwall aka Big Ears who rakes in millions from his Duchy.
The Cornish valiantly fight on though and a search of the internet, indeed of the word 'Cornwall' on this very 'Now Public' site will show something of their efforts. Yes they are a stubborn and brave lot and will not be beaten. It is for that reason that I reproduce entirely an email received this morning from a Cornish friend of mine who is currently tackling their Council, soon to become a form of home ruling Government. I read it and laughed but also felt for the poor Cornish folk who must ache with anger sometimes. Well here is that email. By reading it you will gather who the people are mentioned in it and also of the fact that despite some of the biggest fires in recent history causing wholesale loss of life, the fire service in Kernow is constantly battling cuts imposed by a Council who find the money to produce glossy literature. I support our Celtic brothers the Cornish with all my heart and soul. Here goes:
Cornwall Council have been a bit of a 'Whalley' or is it a 'Harry Ansari' again !!!!!!!!!!! (God, will that woman ever die ?)
The following has been sent to every Councillor at Cornwall Council and to every major media outlet, the Cornish Language development office, the Gorseth, as well as a wide variety of other Cornish, yes Cornish organisations. Why is Cornwall being sold down the river by its local Government ? Cornwall's Members of Westminster Parliament - can you help us the Cornish people please against your own people ? Why are the Lib Dems so anti Cornish ? This is Cornwall and we are Cornish after all. What more do you want ?
(Copied to old fashioned Liberal Party email addresses - can someone kindly get a copy of this to Councillor Paul Holmes of the Liberal Party in Cornwall [NOT LIB DEM but LIBERAL PARTY] thankyou)
Please note announcement 'A' and then 'B' - looks like someone's been a bit of a 'Whalley' again ! (methinks its time for these old Lib Dem rearguard to give up and go home ! You just won't wipe us Cornish out I'm afraid folks and this is going to cost you . Both on the same website - go on press - have a field day or are you too afraid again ! You know what a bunch of 'Whalleys' they are at 'County' Hall. Would you employ them ? Honestly. Give Cornwall a chance and clear them out now.
ANNOUNCEMENT A (PART B UNDER) :
NEW COUNTY 'COUNCIL' NEWSPAPER TO BE DELIVERED TO 240,000 HOMES AND BUSINESSES
The first issue of "Your Cornwall", the new County Council newspaper, will be dropping through the letter boxes of more than 240,000 homes and businesses during July.
The 24 page newspaper has been produced to give residents and businesses in Cornwall more information on the services provided by the County Council.
"Cornwall County Council provides a wide range of services for people who live, work, do business or visit here" said Council Leader David Whalley ( Lib Dem). "These include children's services, such as schools and looking after children in care, adult social services, highway maintenance, waste disposal, libraries, museums, fire and rescue, economic development and trading standards. This year we will serve 524,000 people a year, be responsible for 117,000 children, look after vulnerable adults, manage 500kg of waste per person, manage 6,500 calls and lend out 6 library items every minute. "
"We decided to produce this new publication because the people of Cornwall told us that we don't keep them well informed enough about these services" added Mr Whalley, "We have listened to what they said and are now taking action to put this right".
"All six District Councils in Cornwall already publish their own newspapers or magazines, and we are one of the last County Councils in the country to produce our own publication".
Adding that the creation of the new unitary authority in April meant it was particularly important to provide information to local people, Mr Whalley said that Your Cornwall was one of a number of ways the Council was developing to improve its communication with local communities.
The first edition of Your Cornwall , which is printed on paper sourced from sustainable forests, contains an A – Z of County Council services and helpful points of contact for other agencies such as Health and the Police. It also includes details of the 82 County Councillors and information on the new single Council, together with articles on the Fire Brigade, the Library Service, Waste Management, Trading Standards and Cornwall's Teenage Pregnancy Strategy.
Although the first edition of Your Cornwall does not contain any adverts because of the early bookings required by Royal Mail, future editions will contain statutory notices, job advertising and general council service advertising. This means that the newspaper will not cost council tax payers any extra money as it will be funded by the money the Council normally spends on advertising these areas in other publications.
"I hope people find Your Cornwall helpful and informative" said Mr Whalley. "We have worked hard to produce an informative and entertaining publication and would welcome any questions and suggestions you have for making an even more enjoyable read in the future".
The next edition is due in September, and, from then, will be delivered monthly. Your Cornwall is also available on the Council's website at : www.cornwall.gov.uk/yourcornwall.
ANNOUNCEMENT B:
New Cornwall newspaper - send it back
The new Cornwall newspaper - Your Cornwall - has mistakes and is unnecessary.
When it comes through the letterbox, put it in an envelope and send it back to Carole Theobald, Cornwall County Council, County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro TR1 3AY. without a stamp.
The new newspaper already has the following errors.
* Paul Holmes is a member of the Liberal party
* Julian German's telephone number is 01726 884584
* Collin Brewer is a member of the Independent party
* Jeremy Rowe is a member of the Liberal Democrat party
* The date of the Stithians Show is 14 July 2008
Also it has no mention of Cornish culture, Gorseth, language, wrestling,
etc
A double page spread lists all the Council services except the Cornish
Language. Apparently this was circulated around Co Hall and "must have been missed".
The mind boggles at what that could mean, amid hints of what was suitable
for first issue).
There is also do mention of Dehwelans or other Cornish events.
The 240,000 copies plus will cost 12p each to produce.
THIS COURTESY OF A LOAD OF CORNISH NATIONALISTS ON CORNWALL 24 - OH YOU MUST HATE US MR WHALLEY, MRS 'HARRY' ANSARI ET AL - WHY NOT DO THE DECENT THING AND JUST GO AWAY SOMEWHERE. PERHAPS ICELAND, GREENLAND ? WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BURN THE LEAFLETS, WE'VE GOT NO FIRE BRIGADE LEFT TO DEAL WITH THE BLAZE THANKS TO THE 'WHALLEYS' AT 'COUNTY' HALL !
God Bless you brave Cornish people including today Tony Leamon who stood up and refused to be called English and was arrested for the sakes of it. It is his fourth time over a ten month period at the police station today whilst what have become known as the 'colonial' police in Cornwall make up their mind what to do with him. For more on that story just search 'Tony Leamon Cornwall Kernow' on Google or ' Leamon' on NP.
