Cory magic to stop Charter Change - to a Parliamentary System.
MANILA -- The opposition warned President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to be “very, very afraid” of the people's wrath regarding Charter change (Cha-cha).
They said the unity displayed by the people during former president Corazon Aquino’s funeral showed it could be a potent force against any moves to change the Constitution.
It is not just the opposition here in the Philippines that wants to stop a parliamentary system to be imposed on the citizens. It's the elitist political clans on all sides of the political fence.
I have seen so much bad propaganda conserning changing the governing system. If the system was changed it would allow the middle class and poor a chance to obtain seats in government. A really push people power on to the political floor and in the arena. This could mean a real reform to rid corruption and a real positive approach to riding the country of its poverty.
Its got to a point that the citizen in the street does not even know what a paliamentary system is, and of course if their politicians say its evil, well its evil.
It certaily does not mean that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will become the queen of the Philippines, lol
Why go through with all the trouble in changing the governance system when she could easily follow the steps of Marco's and extend her term as president? She is not imposing the system she wants to have it voted in democraticly to give the citizens more power and take the power away from the political clans. Get the pigs out of the trough and gets some real reforms done to benifit the people.

The outpouring public support for Cory, is warning sign for Pres, Arroyo and here allies to behave, probably it's a signal for all Filipinos to unite an set aside political agenda...
After Edsa-1 toppled the dictatorship, the late former Pres. Corazon Aquino stood up for morality and transparency in government when she became a president... If we remembered, in 2005, Mrs. Aquino, also openly called for the resignation of Pres. Arroyo to resign, over the "Hello Garci" scandal involving alleged fraud in the 2004 presidential election...
Thanks, Babel for the story! ;D

Your welcome and of course Arroyo did the wrong thing by involving her self with comelec if she was not attempting to tamper with election results. It makes us all feel she was guilty as alleged.

Your title is misleading.
It belongs to the news.
Since you are just writing your opinion, you should phrase your item as an opinion piece - not just quote the title of the news.
I guess we should be learning to do our craft better as the years go by. We owe it to our readers.
