Shirley Steiner.

Mike,   I enjoyed looking at your pictures of Cotton End.   I grew up in the village and was sad to see the second pub boarded up.   I had to smile at you calling it The Harrers - it was actually The Harrows, as in farm implement, but I know the local pronunciation is Harrers.   My grandparents ran that pub in the 40's and much of my childhood was spent there.   I hardly recognize some parts of the village - I haven't been there for over 20 years, but it was good to see The Bell again.   Wish I had a dollar for every packet of crisps I bought at the back door.   Thanks for the memories.   Ex-pat, USA.

Hi Shirley!

Pleased you like the pics. Strange about the pub name though... I was sure I'd seen it spelt "Harrers" when I used to drive by there. Oh well. Useful to know.
