Could Zimbabwe be the Next Kenya?

As the election results trickle in from yesterdays vote, already both sides are arguing over the result. While the opposition party is claiming victory, President Mugabe's government is warning that the results are not yet known, and said any calls for this election to be declared for the opposition is equivalent to a coup d'etat.

Yes, it is a different country but the circumstances are similar enough to make violence a legitimate fear as results come in - and if they are disputed - in Zimbabwe.

Mugabe's declaration could deasily be seen as a pre-emptive end-run around the results. (Even with allegedly stuffed ballot boxes, it's diffficult to imagine the non-fictional voters willingly choosing a government that transformed the resource-rich Zimbabwe into the economic sink-hole it is today)
