When you have hundreds of townspeople wanting your head for killing your own 12 year old daughter, perhaps you should thank your lucky stars "Hanging Posses" are outlawed in this country!
BRIDGEWATER, N.S. — A Nova Scotia mother charged with the first-degree murder of her 12-year-old daughter was weeping when she made her first court appearance today.
Penny Boudreau, 33, said nothing and was returned to custody after the first-degree murder charge was read into the court record.
The body of Karissa Boudreau was found last February on the west bank of the LaHave River near Bridgewater, N.S.
Her mother was arrested last Friday. Police have said they do not expect to charge anyone else.
About 100 people were gathered outside the courthouse and jeered the woman as she was taken away in a police vehicle.
Boudreau reported Karissa missing in January following a trip to a Bridgewater supermarket.
