CPAC Straw Poll 2010 Results: Ron Paul Wins at 31%
The CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) Straw Poll 2010 results were released tonight and Ron Paul won the poll at 31%. But this will have little impact on the presidential race according to The Washington Post.
Mitt Romney came in second with 22% and the third place when to Sarah Palin with 7%.
The CPAC Straw Poll 2010 results are:
Ron Paul 31%
Mitt Romney 22%
Sarah Palin 7%
Tim Pawlenty 6%
Mike Pence 5%
Newt Gingrich 4%
Mike Huckabee 4%
Mitch Daniels 2%
John Thune 2%
Rick Santorum 2%
Haley Barbour 1%
Rick Santorum who only obtained 2%, told TPMDC that he is not concerned about the results of the Straw Poll.
"Nothing," Santorum said flatly when I asked him what he's done to win the straw poll, which pundits often point to as an early gauge of a potential GOP nominee's support with the conservative base of the party. Santorum said he's not paying attention to the poll, which he appears on for the first time this year.
CNN reports that Gov. Mark Sanford was in attendance at the CPAC today, but he said he was just making a social visit and was not there for politics.
Sanford was one year removed from being on the CPAC Straw Poll.

Interesting result but Paul has zero chance of being nominated.

I think Ron Paul is fabulously intelligent. Trouble now is that he is too old. Perhaps he can be cloned. Perhaps he can mentor.

This is a list of losers.

Perhaps, but it is hardly a complete list of losers.
The complete list of losers would include Pelosi, Reid, Nelson, etc. It is a long one.
Perhaps we can issue a more complete list come November, no?
