Philip Markoff, the 23-year old medical student accused of being the Craigslist Killer, has plead not guilty to first degree murder charges in the death of Julissa Brisman. Markoff also plead not guilty to all related charges in the Brisman murder, and not guilty to charges of a assault on a second woman in Rhode Island.

Philip Markoff has been linked to a third crime against a woman who had advertised "exotic services" on Craiglist.  The woman in the third case was attacked and robbed at a Holiday Inn Express in Warwick, RI. That case will be heard in a separate trial and no plea has yet been entered.

Craigslist has been hit with bad press in recent months for a series of crimes against women who advertise services on the free classifieds site. The cases prompted Craigslist to revamp its listings and exclude adult, or "exotic" services.

Philip Markoff stared straight ahead and his attorney did not object to him being ordered held without bail during the arraignment in Suffolk Superior Court.

Prosecutors say the 23-year-old upstate New York native lured Julissa Brisman of New York City to a Boston hotel in April after she advertised in the "exotic services" section on Craigslist. Markoff is accused of binding Brisman during a violent struggle then shooting her in the chest.

Markoff also pleaded not guilty to the armed robbery of a Las Vegas woman at another Boston hotel. He's also accused in an April attack on a woman in Warwick, R.I.

Phillip Markoff was planning to get married in New Jersey on August 14, 2009. His fiance Megan McAllister  stood by him in the early days of his arrest, insisting that her husband-to-be was not a killer. McCallister was quietly absent from the June 22, 2009 proceedings.
