Craigslist Killer suspected in third attack
After two attacks in Boston it appears that the "Craigslist Killer" has attempted another robbery in Warwick, Rhode Island on April 16.
The Craigslist killer calls women advertising services on the site, makes appointments to meet them at luxury hotels and then immediately ties them up and robs or kills them when he arrives.
The first attack, on January 17, took place in the Back Bay Sheraton Hotel where Donna Rao, after advertising her services on Craigslist, was bound with plastic restraints and then robbed.
The second attack linked to the suspect took place on April 10 after another woman advertised via Craigslist and was again bound and robbed at the Westin Copely Hotel in Boston.
The attacks turned fatal on April 14 when Julissa Brisman, a 26 year-old masseuse, solicited over Craiglist and was shot to death in the Marriott Copely Place.
The most recent attack took place on April 16 in Warwick, Rhode Island where yet another 26 year-old woman who was offering "private dances" in a hotel room was tied up by a cord and held at gunpoint. Fortunately the woman's husband arrived and the suspect fled.
The description of the suspect matches that of a "person of interest" wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Julissa Brisman at the Marriott Copley Place in Boston on Tuesday night.
Boston Police are working with Warwick Police on the case.
Boston Police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said today it’s “too soon to tell” if this is the same suspect. She said Boston cops are working with Warwick police on the case and “proceeding with caution.”
“We’re not sure,” said Driscoll, who added new information is being weighed as the chase for the sex-scene prowler intensifies.
The suspect was captured on video surveilance in Boston and Warwick Police believe they too may have footage of the man. The suspect is said to be a clean-cut, 6 foot-tall, white male with blond hair wearing a black jacket and jeans.
the Craigslist killer, always caught on camera with his ubiquitous BlackBerry, is smart enough to prowl the Web for easy marks but desperate enough to ignore the fact he’s being followed on surveillance cameras.
