Last Minute Exposure Underscores Obama Challenge from BP

When the hits just keep on come’n. The President is making his speech tonight to tell us how the nation is dealing with the oil spill disaster and environmental, ecological, and economic disaster. How about asking the United Kingdom to cough up some colonized island property from around the world that we can use as launch pads for nation building or something like that?

“News Alert: Gulf oil leak estimates dramatically rise again
05:28 PM EDT Tuesday, June 15, 2010
--------------------

The government's Flow Rate Technical Group estimates that the BP well is now leaking 35,000 to 60,000 barrels a day into the Gulf of Mexico, the Interior Department said in a statement. Last Thursday saw the release of three preliminary estimates of the flow from before the well's riser pipe was sheared, ranging from 12,600 to 50,000 barrels a day. Initial estimates of the flow were 5,000 barrels of oil a day.

BP is working to capture part of the oil flow, though containment efforts were halted earlier this afternoon due to a ship fire.”
