Creepy Fruit

Assign&Critique, Assignment 9: Eyes

Again, took the theme of eyes somewhere unintended, at least at first. The eyes staring out of the fruit bowl are a keychain / rearview mirror ornament in the shape of a luchador mask I received from my brother not long ago.

I usually keep it in my office as it creeps my wife out to see it around the house. However, it lacks shape without something set inside it, so I usually put an orange or apple in it until it's time to consume the fruit. This idea just sort of brought the whole creepy fruit theme full circle.

I'm not entirely happy with the flash reflection -- next time I'll attempt to do a better still life with a black backdrop and better available and fill lighting.
