Perfect Packing for a Cruise

Travel Tips brought to you by MOTEL.COM
Begin by packing according to outfit. Put each outfit on a hanger, then cover with a plastic dry cleaning bag and fold, hanger and all, to fit in your suitcase - usually a half-fold will do. This makes it much easier to unpack - simply take each outfit from your suitcase and hang in your cabin closet. Generally, most of your outfits will not wrinkle. But for those exceptions that ay be slightly creased or wrinkled can often be freshened up by steaming. Just hang those items in the bathroom while taking a hot, steamy shower and often the wrinkles will fall out.

Here's a great way to organize your cabin bathroom, most of which are short of space. Just hang an over-the-door pocket-style shoe organizer on the bathroom door and slip your bathroom necessities in the pockets and they're handy and out of the way.

Its a good idea to "mix" up your garments if there are more than one person in your party. This will insure that everyone will have something to wear just in some of your luggage gets lost in the journey.

Pack small. Place undergarments and knits in bags designed for compact storage, such as those made by Pack-Mate, or appropriately sized zipper top kitchen storage bags and force all the air out before zipping them shut. Not only do you save room in your suitcases but your clothing will stay dry.

To keep your clothing dry by spraying your luggage with Scotch Guard for additional waterproofing both inside and out. An added bonus of using zipper top bags is efficient unpacking—just leave everything in the bags and stack them in drawers and on shelves.

It is a good idea to bring a roll of duct tape with you when you travel. Wrapped around suitcases, it keeps them relatively secure in worst case scenarios, such as zipper blow out or broken hinges and clasps. Tape also discourages random pilferage by baggage handlers.

It is always a good idea to put multiple identification tags on your luggage, backed up by an identity tag tapped to the inside of your bags. Using colorful tape on the outside of your luggage can make your bags unique and easier to identify.
