CSPAN Caller: Maybe Network Should Change Name to Black Span

Voicing his belief that too many Black callers were calling on the Republican and Independent lines provided by CSPAN for its listeners, a North Carolina man, noting the race of two previous callers as White, stated he felt he and other conservatives may need to find another network to watch.

His discontent seemed to arise from what he has noted to be too many African Americans calling in relative to their percentage in the American population and, in his view, calling in on the wrong telephone lines.

"You have black folks calling in on the Republican line, independents. And you have so many of 'em I can't believe this is just an accident. If you keep on with the way you've been programming, you should change your name from C-Span to black-span," he said. "I know they have an opinion but I wish that they would be honest and call in on the right line."

Don't get the guy excited by reminding him that there are now more minority babies being born than white babies, and that soon, el gringo will be himself a minority.
