U.S. Ready for Massive Influx at Gitmo

Somehow I feel like it's the "agreement by both countries" part of the issue that will prevent from this happening.

Cuba has demanded the US return Guantanamo Bay to the island nation and denounced the "war on terror" prison, where six detainees could face the death penalty.

Cuba's Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque claimed today that suspects held in the US naval base in the southeastern tip of Cuba have been subjected to torture and face unfair legal treatment.

Cuba rejects "the violation of human rights, unjust incarceration of prisoners held there without charges, and their appearance in courts without guarantees and in which they are convicted in advance,'' he told reporters.

He did not directly refer to the case of six detainees facing charges that carry the death penalty.

"We demand again the closure of the indecent Guantanamo prison, the return of the territory illegally occupied to our fatherland,'' Perez Roque said.

The United States, which has occupied Guantanamo for more than 100 years, signed in 1934 a lease agreement with the Cuban government that could not be altered without agreement by both countries.

Jarrett Martineau, I like this story. Real good. You know it's funny...the MSM reports like this prison is holding all "Arab Hitlers", when in reality...WE DON'T KNOW WHO THE HECK IS THERE! Could be grandparents that thumbed their nose at Bush, or your neighbors wife for carrying one to many books of matches on the plane! Wise Up!

The US pays rent to the cuban government for usage of the base. Castro has never deposited any of those checks. I think it's about time he did cash them in and use the money for something good. Maybe Castro could donate part of his own 5 billion dollar fortune towards the cuban people who live pathetic lives. Maybe he could use the money to built up his army and launch a full scale invasion of Guantanamo Bay and save all those innocent arab terrorists from the North American Imperial Forces. I'm sure his boy Hugo Chavez could simultaneously launch an attack against Columbia utilizing the FARC. And Ortega of Nicaragua could attack Honduras, Belize, and El Salvador. Maybe Morales of Bolivia will have a change of heart and quit chewing coca leaves and come into the real world joining his communist brothers by attacking Uruguay and Paraguay. Maybe the Argentineans can re-take the Falkland Islands or Marianas wearing Che Guevara T-Shirts. Maybe Ecuador should concentrate on saving the Galapagos. Perhaps Peru should bring back Sendero Luminoso, Guzman and Carlotta, and replace their prison cells with Fujimoto. Maybe Brazil should start taking AZT and Pro-tease Inhibitors.
Yes it all starts with Guantanamo and maybe a good song written by the cuban poet Jose Marti' " Guantanamera". Whatever it may be, perhaps someday soon in the future when Castro finally departs Americans can escape to Cuba and properly retire. Maybe I could get my hands on some fine cuban cigars and a real rum and coke.
Anything beats watching Amy Winehouse perform on the Grammys(you know she's "no good"). We need some real music, some salsa, mambo, rumba, cha cha cha. I wanna go to the place where I don't have to watch a Britney Spears on the tv. Please give back Guantanamo Base. It'll make a lovely place for condos.
