Cuomo's Office Urges Public To Come Forward
The Attorney General’s office urges individuals with knowledge of any questionable arrangements between any BOCES, local governments, or school districts and their outside professionals to contact the Public Integrity Bureau
One day after New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli removed four lawyers from the state's pension fund, and removed service credits from the fifth, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo announced that his office will investigate all thirty-seven BOCES in the state, and in addition to the 100's of school districts and local governments his office is currently investigating.
Cuomo's expanding state-wide investigation is related to New York State BOCES and school districts who placed lawyers on school payroll records as "employees", who were then in a position to collect pension benefits reserved for public servants. Cuomo's office has legal jurisdiction and criminal and civil charges could be filed against those involved.
Cuomo's office is urging anyone with knowledge to contact the PUBLIC INTEGRITY BUREAU at (212) 416-8090, or by email at public.integrity@oag.state.ny.us.
