Dalai Lama warns Tibetan exiles against failure
One of the Seven people I'd like to meet in heaven....
Maybe it's because I have seen all the movies about the Dalai Lama. I certanly don't know the man but I certanly would like to know him.
Like a school yard bully China will not leave Tibet alone. The world has seen the outcome. Wreacked Monistaries and oppressed people.
The culture and perspective of the Dalai Lama and his nation can not be allowed to be lost.
The Panchen Lama, Gendun Cheokyi Nyima, now 18 years old, was named Panchen Lama at age five but has not been seen in public since.
Dalai Lama warns Tibetan exiles against failure
Associated Press - November 23, 2008 12:03 AM ET
DHARMSALA, India (AP) - The Dalai Lama is warning Tibetan exiles of possible failure within the next two decades if leaders are not prudent in their plans.
The Tibetan spiritual leader says, "the next twenty years, if we are not careful, if we are not prudent in our plans there is a great danger. It could lead to the danger of failure."
The Dalai Lama spoke Sunday to more than 500 delegates gathered in the north Indian hill town of Dharmsala for a rare meeting of Tibetan exiles.
He appeared to be speaking about the larger Tibetan cause, which many exile leaders believe is at a crossroads. The meeting's delegates have reaffirmed support for the Dalai Lama's "middle path" of measured compromise to gain autonomy for the Himalayan region. But the group also said it is time to end talks with China.

All you said here is some what true and saddening however have not we neglected Palestine for the past 60 Years in a much worth manner same could be said for Burma and many more places and people. Would it not be grand time the World stopped being so darn indifferent and this would have to start with each and every one of us.
Good Post. Thanks for posting.

I am simply amazed at the lack of outrage by China's takeover of Tibet. The killing and massacre is simply appalling. In Burma it is an internal chaos that is taking place. No other country is trying to take it over. The murder by the military of dissident monks is simply uninteresting to the rest of the world except for a moment or two.
As far as the Israel/Palestine situation is concerned, it is a struggle for mutual acceptance by both parties of their right to be here. BTW, the country is called Israel. There has NOT been a Palestine for 60 years. In fact this is a very recent situation since the 1967 war in which Israel won the West Bank from Jordon and the Gaza Strip from Egypt. Before that time there was just a backwater of Jordan on the West Bank of the country. Underdeveloped and underpopulated with no interest of Jordan nor Egypt to doing anything about the area.
