Daniel Munoz Perez Mistakenly Released from Pinal County Jail Before Chandler Mall Shootout

Daniel Munoz Perez, the alleged gunman involved in the shootout at Chandler Fashion Mall in Phoenix, was mistakenly released from Pinal County Jail on #320 bond on December 17, 2010.

Daniel Perez had been arrested on December 11 for shooting at Arizona Department of Public Safety officers. Perez was booked into the Pinal County Jail on a misdemeanor warrant, but the officers at Pinal County Jail say that they never received the paperwork pertaining to the shooting.

Sgt. Joe Favazzo of the Chandler Police Department said the mall at Loop 101 and Chandler Boulevard was in lock-down mode and occupants were being evacuated. He urged people to stay away from the area. No law enforcement personnel were reported injured.
