David Goldman and Sean Leave Brazil, Son Home for Christmas

Chris Smith. The congressman stated that David and Sean are on their way to the United States on a charter plane from Rio De Janeiro.
Sean was crying as he was led through a sea of sea of journalists in front of the consulate donning a shirt emblazoned with a Brazilian flag. They boy and his father left some three hours later.
Goldman had gone through five years of court rulings, hearings, et al. to get to this point where the Brazilian Supreme Court chief ordered Sean be returned to his father.

I feel so bad for Sean because I am sure his abductors brainwashed him so much that this will be so hard for David and his son to have the bond in the beginning that I am sure David would have loved. I do know over time, and counceling, Sean will later resent his family in Brazil after finding out what the truth is, what really happened and to know that his father never gave up, went above and beyond to protect him. This story was truly touching to me. I am glued to the TV and internet waiting for Sean to step foot on American soul, his home, where he really belongs and for the healing process to finally begin, not that his abductors are not brainwashing him anymore. I am so glad it was done early enough (as in, Sean not be a teenager) so he can have a better chance at truly healing. I give David credit for even thinking to possibly give them rights to come see Sean, as I would have not wanted to do that at all. But I do know by David doing this will only show Sean that HE is the good person. He didn't ban then, like them did his own father, from seeing his ONLY parent. I wish Sean and David many wonderful years.. and for Sean to heal with his father, and for them both to find that bond of father and son, that they really were robbed of. san
