David Goldman Custody Case Update: Brazilian Family Won't Appeal
In the most recent update to David Goldman's custody battle story, allegations were leaked that the Brazilian family of David Goldman's son Sean said they would not appeal the Brazilian Court's decision to give the custody of the boy to his father.
Yesterday, the Brazilian Supreme court ruled that nine-year-old Sean Goldman currently residing in Brazil be returned to his father David Goldman who is an American citizen. The decision in this custody case came in the wake of another ruling issued just days earlier ordering Sean Goldman to remain in Brazil and give his own testimony on the matter.
Sean Goldman's Brazilian family consisting of his grandmother Silvana Bianchi and stepfather João Paulo Lins de Silva allegedly said they would not appeal the decision. They say they want to act in child's best interest. The family said appealing would only prolong the suffering. Previously, the boy's Brazilian family insisted Sean's interests were not being considered, saying the transition would traumatize Sean. Now, the two sides are working on making the transition as smooth as possible in arranging the handover procedure.
The Goldman family saga lasted for years ever since David Goldman's wife Bruna Bianchi has escaped with the boy to her native Brazil in 2004 without Goldman's consent. Bianchi remarried and died last year while giving birth. Ever since, Sean Goldman's grandmother and stepfather were in custody of the boy.

Dear David,I'm so happy for you that you finally have your son back living with you in New Jersey. I'm glad that your 5 year ordeal is over and you never gave up on your son and you won and now you have Sean back home with you where he belongs! I feel for you son and what he went through in Brazil and not being able to see his father for so long. Thank God he's back home where he belongs!
