The mother and son were shopping at David Bobbitt's store when he allegedly abducted them, and the mother insisted that Bobbitt beat her instead of the child. The woman's family found her car, and her brother began kicking in doors of nearby businesses until he found her. The woman had been beaten badly with a blunt object, as well as sexually assaulted.

A warrant has been issued for David Wayne Bobbitt's arrest; he is wanted for attempted murder.

Bobbitt, who police say has a history of violence, is described as five-foot-seven-inches tall, medium build, and clean shaven with brown balding hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP at 250-492-4300 or at Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477. Anyone who sees Bobbitt is asked to call 911 immediately.
