Day after Christmas and Boxing Day
Back home in Virginia, USA it is probably still snowing and on Saturday if there wasn’t so much snow, people might be returning their gifts that were the wrong size or color. All of the malls and restaurants would be open again for business.
Maybe not so here in London where it is Boxing Day the day after Christmas. Mind you, bankers would not be working this Saturday, but the day after Christmas is their day anyway, a banking holiday, a time when everything in England is shut.
Why? What is going on here?
Officially Boxing Day is December 26th, but by definition it is also the first weekday after Christmas. Therefore, since the 26th in 2010 is on a Saturday, Boxing Day is Monday and therefore, unless they forget, businesses should be open on Saturday. This may be a year of confusion but we shall see.

I wonder if the Canadians will be confused too?
