A loosely organised protest called 'Day Without a Gay' is gathering steam online, with over 18,000 members on their Facebook page.

The boycott will happen on December 10, when people will call in sick to work in protest of California's passing of Proposition 8 and banning of gay marriage.

You can find the Facebook page here.

The HR office has probably never encountered this before: People across the country are being urged to skip work Wednesday after calling in "gay."

The loosely organized protest, called "Day Without a Gay," (www.daywithoutagay.org) is intended as a statement against California's ban on same-sex marriage, along with other political developments considered anti-gay.
On DECEMBER 10th Gay people and supporters of Gays are going on strike for the day to protest the passing of proposition 8 and the unfair treatment of homosexuals in this country. People have stepped on us too long and it is time we make them see us and make them listen.

How fitting that tomorrow is also International Human Rights Day. I wish them luck!

I respect the choice and life style of homosexuals but still find hard to come to terms with the whole idea and just makes me sick the more I think of the intimate relationship details of two males.. I am sorry I am not that evolved yet to accept the concept.

Excellent idea. While I personally don't think too highly of marriage, I don't believe anyone should be denied access to the institution because of orientation. Hope the protest is a huge success!

How lame can they get?  They make up about 2 percent of the population.  Let em stay home.

Yeah.  That's the day I  can take my young, impressionable  children out without them being forced to see two guys kissing in public.
