The Georgia Firefighter Responsible For Filming and Sharing the Death Video of Dayna Kempson Schacht Has Been Suspended

The firefighter still has not been named, but Spalding County officials have suspended him for using his cell phone on the scene of an accident to film Dayna's body after she died in the car crash.

They released a brief statement about the matter:

In a released statement, officials said the firefighter is on "investigatory suspension" while an outside firm determines whether the firefighter broke any laws or internal policies.

It is expected that the report will be completed next week and then further decisions regarding this firefighter's career will have to be determined.

The firefighter took the video and then shared it with his co-workers and others outside the department.

His actions were discovered when Dayna's father received the video himself on his cell phone. The family are devastated that not only do they have to deal with the death of her daughter, but they also have to deal with potentially viewing a video of the tragedy every time they surf the Internet.
