DC Connecticut Ave: New Safety Sentinels Deployed
Forest Hills, DC - Less than 24 hours after the posting of the NowPublic article, DC: Connecticut Ave danger to people and protectors exposing damaged pedestrian safety pylons, the DC government replaces the mangled safety devices and puts down outlines for new crosswalk markings at that location.
DISCLOSURE: Instead of a photograph I am represented by a deliberately cropped DC Flag. If that is not explicit enough, please look at my NowPublic profile and you will see I am an elected official in the District of Columbia. Even so, I find it rare to complement the DC government, thus this disclosure.
The cojoined parking meters mentioned in the previous story have migrated to the northeast corner of the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Albemarle Street. One of the two meters is still flashing red.
Still, for those of you considering darting across Connecticut Avenue, heed the words of Alfred Lord Tennyson:
Not tho' the soldier knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
