DC: Death Scene Crosswalk Re-Striping

Washington, DC - Fairfax County Public Schools buses park blocking crosswalks in upper Northwest DC. A concerned citizen reports that the District of Columbia's Department
of Public Works sent a Parking Enforcement Officer in response to her
call. The Officer arrived promptly and ticketed both buses. This concerned
citizen also called the Fairfax Schools, she indicates the call taker laughed at her complaint.

Within the last year 2 fatalities have resulted within 5 blocks of this location. Sidewalk restriping was in progress nearby to improve safety.
