Washington, DC - Fire trucks with support vehicles, police cars, and ambulances raced up Connecticut Avenue to the area around Legation Street and Connecticut Avenue shortly before noon today. MPD Officers redirected traffic off Connecticut Avenue from Military Road to Livingston Street. Apparently, the Lareine Apartments was the site of a fire. On this chilly day, windows were open with screens raised on a second story unit.

Adding to the excitement, before the fire incident was cleared, ambulances arrived at the cordoned off area to transport a person from the Chevy Chase House Retirement Residence. Even though in DC, the individual wheeled out on a gurney opted for transport service by theĀ Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad.
