Washington, DC – At least 2 Hillary Clinton supporters attempted to disrupt the 1st DC Democratic State Convention in a decade. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton explained to an auditorium of Democrats from throughout the city her early appearance at the convention. She related that Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama had requested her to campaign in North Carolina prior to that state's May 6th primary. This last minute request forced her early arrival and departure from the DC convention.

At least 2 people in the audience yelled anti-Obama comments and chanted “Hillary”. Seated at a table with dignitaries, DC Councilmember Mary Cheh, reputed non-operational boss in the DC Hillary Clinton campaign organization stared emotionless as the meager crew was shouted down by the grassroots Obama supporters from across the city.

Security stood by attentively and watched for more serious outbursts.

Sporadic outbursts by pro-Clinton individuals continued on into the afternoon even though titular DC Clinton leader Mary Cheh had departed. Cheh lives less than 4 blocks from the the auditorium.
