DC: Washington Post, Police and Gaza Protesters
Washington, DC – Friday afternoon, a few daring Posties ventured to the secured lobby of the Washington Post headquarters to peer out the window to see protesters with a wheelbarrow of newspapers. “Dump the Post” was the chant from the crowd protesting the Post's lack of coverage of Gaza protests. Bicycle mounted Metropolitan Police Department officers assembled in 2 formations across the street. They were supported by a double parked standard issue unmarked police car with official plates and a truancy van. To the total disinterest of the protesters, MPD cars zoomed by with lights flashing and sirens blaring. Cops on motor scooters puttered by. Eventually, “with nothing to see here” the MPD broke ranks and left the demonstrators and the shy mass media.
