Adam Gilchrist, the Kings XI captain, won the toss and chose to bowl first against Delhi Daredevils in a Pepsi Indian Premier League clash at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Tuesday (April 23).
Both teams, coming off a sensational batting performances, decided to beef up the bowling. Punjab made three changes to the side that chased down 185 in a tense finish against Pune Warriors on Sunday.
Luke Pomersbach, the Australian batsman, got his first game of the tournament, coming in place of Azhar Mahmood, while Harmeet Singh, the medium pacer and Bhargav Bhatt, the left-arm spinner, were slotted at the expense of Gurkeerat Singh and Manpreet Gony.
There were three changes for Delhi, who registered their first win of the tournament in their previous game against Mumbai Indians. Venugopal Rao, who didn’t get an opportunity to bat in that game, was surprisingly left out in favour of Manprit Juneja, while Johan Botha, the South African offspinner, and Ashish Nehra came in place of Andre Russell and Shahbaz Nadeem.
