A civilian helicopter has crashed into the Mediterranean Sea off the Israeli coast. The wreckage was found near the Sironit Beach, close to the city of Netanya. The helicopter had taken off from Sde Dov airport and was heading North before crashing. The aircraft was civilian, likely a tour helicopter carrying tourists. All passangers on board, including a British national have been killed. Their names are not being released. All bodies have been located by divers. A British national is among the dead -- a British passport was found in the wreckage. It is not clear who he was, but is likely a tourist. Att his point in time, the cause of crash has not been identified. Investigation is underway.

Witnesses told Israel Radio they saw the helicopter spinning out of control and splashing into the water.
They reported the crash to police who launched boat units to search for the wreckage.
Mr Rosenfeld said flying conditions before the crash, at about 2.30pm local time (12.30pm GMT), were "relatively decent".

I spent some time in Netanya, so was attracted to this, I googled the story and got a lot more info, a bit too much hysterical propaganda in some links for me, but here are a few links.

I uploaded an article to our news site that states that the Israel Air Force tested remains to verify that the helicopter was not one of theirs.
