Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians Live Score and Ball by Ball updates of IPL 2013, 28th T20 Match played at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi on 21st April 2013.
Ricky Ponting, the Mumbai Indians captain, won the toss and chose to bat first against Delhi Daredevils in the Pepsi IPL 2013 match at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi on Sunday (April 21).
Both sides, coming off comprehensive defeats in their previous match, made wholesome changes. Mumbai brought in Dwayne Smith, Munaf Patel and Jasprit Bumrah in place of Mitchell Johnson, Pragyan Ojha and Rishi Dhawan.
Ponting felt the surface will play better early on. “It looks like a good surface and it should skid on nicely,” he said, before adding, “Captaincy has been a lot of fun. It would have been nice to have a couple of more wins but we have to try and bounce back today. We need to have consistency in our batting performances.”
Delhi, who will be looking to register their first win on the board also made three changes. Roelof van der Merwe replaced Jeevan Mendis, the Sri Lankan allrounder, who was out with a finger injury, while Andre Russell and Venugopal Rao replaced Morne Morkel and Manprit Juneja.
Meanwhile, Mahela Jayawardene, the Delhi captain, was pleased to welcome Vivian Richards as a part of the support staff. “The franchise had already planned to get him down to India. He’s fantastic with the boys. We’ve had only 24 hours with him but he has contributed a lot and hopefully that’ll help us,” he said.
“We’ve dug ourselves into a hole and it’s up to us to come out of it. We’ve played some good cricket, so there is some confidence in the group. The pitch might slow down a bit later.”
