You know I am all for Free Speech, but you know, trying to prove a point by reprinting cartoons of "Muhammed" just to enforce your "Free Speech" stance and throwing it in the face of those who threaten to "Suicide Bomb Your Ass", should make you think twice about "Baiting" those who  also won't think twice of "Strapping on Explosives" for the promise of a "Hot Date with a 1,000 Virgins in Paradise".

Denmark evacuates Algeria and Afghanistan embassies

COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- The Danish Foreign Ministry says that it has evacuated its staff from embassies in Algeria and Afghanistan because of threats after newspapers reprinted a cartoon depicting the Muslim prophet Muhammad.

Embassy employees have been moved to secret locations in both countries' capitals but continue to work, Foreign Ministry spokesman Erik Laursen said.

The announcement comes after Danish intelligence officials warned of an "aggravated'' terror threat against Denmark since newspapers published in February a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

The warning specifically singled out North Africa, the Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Thanks Vinnie, I put this Free Speech Baiting, like Someone waving a Fistful of Money and Taunting "Face to Face" with a Gun Toting Mugger, High on Crack and Looking to Kill Someone.

You know if your looking for trouble it will find you!

I agree Barry, while I fully support free speech sometimes some common sense is needed.

Sorry Barry but I disagree!  Denmark is a free country and as such cannot do anything but strongly request that whoever would publish such things please not do so.  They cannot impose censorship on the press.

Thus when a private concern prints such inflammatory material the government must take steps to protect their international workers.

Though I am totally not in favour of this kind of tasteless foolishness in insighting people to violence, I am also not agreement with attempts to blackmail groups and countries into restricting freedoms through threats of violence from a bunch of crazies, regardless of their particular religious or political neurosis, and this, by the way includes the crazies in Washington and in the US religious right.

Muslims find such pictures offensive and reprehensible.  We find their attempts to curb our freedoms offensive and reprehensible.  Though I have nothing but scorn and shame to heap upon the West for how it has screwed with Muslims globally, I cannot see how their explosive reaction to these matters will aid their cause. If they want to kill over the issue they will lose so badly it won't even be a contest.  Sorry to say but the conquer and kill game is something us westerners have down pat, and when push comes to shove, well you know what I mean.

The Muslims have a number of legitimate complaints about us.  Threatening us will not get them one step closer to a solution.

I agree Moon, but come on, right or wrong, they're asking for it for publishing the cartoon all over again, I know if I were posted in one of those embassies after finding out they reprinted the Cartoon again, I would be looking to change my Depends, Tout Suite!

Thanks for the comments though Moon, always appreciated
