Despite Some Major Losses, Obama's Campaign Retains Solidarity
Despite Democratic co-frontrunner Senator Hillary Clinton obtaining a third major victory in the Democratic primary, the campaign of Senator Barack Obama is still standing strong. There have been no surefire signs of turmoil in the campaign of Obama. However, this was not the case for Clinton when she had lost numerous contests in February.
In a nutshell, Obama’s campaign is still running strong with the same tight-knit group of staffers. But, Clinton’s campaign is not as lucky. Her campaign has gone through much turmoil in the last several months. One example would be former New York Representative Geraldine Ferraro who resigned from the Clinton campaign as she took fire for her comment about Obama being where he is today because he is black. Also, Ferraro is a top ally and was a major fundraiser for Clinton’s campaign.
Clinton’s campaign was violently shaken up several times. However, Obama’s campaign has been steady. Early April, Mark Penn resigned from the Clinton campaign. Penn was Clinton’s chief strategist.
Poll results do not look favorable for Clinton either. A poll by Washington Post/ABC News that was conducted on April 16 revealed that Clinton’s trust amongst voters has deteriorated.
Even, Clinton’s hardcore loyalists agreed. They cited the story Clinton said about her trip to Bosnia did not help but make things worse. Despite Clinton’s wins and losses, her campaign had much inner turmoil. Even when Clinton scored a major victory after the April 22 primary in Pennsylvania, a major fundraiser defected and joined Obama.
It leaves many to wonder how Obama manages to keep everything tight. There have been no recent news reports of turmoil within Obama’s campaign. A record of wins is the most obvious. However, it would look that there is much more needed than a record of wins. Clinton had won in the major primaries; yet, her campaign was shaken up several times.
It is revealed that other important features would be one that does not tolerate fighting from within the group as that will tear it apart. So far, it would look as if Obama has not tolerated infighting. The other thing is that the campaign has distanced itself from Washington DC. This could possibly be tied into Obama’s “inexperience” in Washington DC.
So far, the key ingredient was loyalty to the cause. What that means was that there was no backstabbing involved in Obama’s campaign. As a plus, those in Obama’s campaign have had no beef with each other in the past. They actually had pretty solid relations with each other.
In a nutshell, Obama’s campaign has retained its solidarity.

The public response to his politics were thrillingly loud, and exciting. Standing applause every 5 min.

After Obama's speech and the townhall meeting, he spent almost 20 minutes signing autographs and talking with the crowd as he made his exit.

I am a volunteer for Barack Obama and when he came to my home town I had the chance to work with the press. Everyone was so friendly.
When Barack came out the entire crowd was cheering and many times we came out of our seats for a standing ovation.
It was a great thing to see him in person and I do believe he is the one to bring change to America.
