Susan Clemmer, a Los Angeles police detective who testified at the Rodney King trial, shot herself to death after walking into a sheriff's station.

LAPD officials said that the 41-year-old Clemmer walked into the Santa Clarita station around  9 pm Monday and was "acting in a strange way." Clemmer reportedly chatted with a male officer. As he left the lobby, the officer heard a gunshot.

Clemmer rode in the ambulance with King after his police beating on March 3, 1991. Clemmer testified during the Rodney King, stating that King was laughing and spitting blood on her uniform.

Susan Clemmer last worked for LAPD's gang and narcotics division. She had been with the LAPD since 1989.
