Fox News' War on the White House

VIDEO:  Did Fox News begin the war with the Obama White House?

Since this was not discussed enough,  (actually, it has been discussed ad nauseum)  just adding a bit more.  Actually,  it is because this is being rehashed and re-discussed on a political forum I belong to,  that I felt the urge to post it.  Just a bit more "grist for the mill".  No rock throwing for beating a dead horse.  And there is this timely piece,  posted today, from the great LA News Online:

On the positive side, the controversy did give the news media an opportunity to define its mission and goals.  It made me think about my own bias. Perhaps we need to look at why and how we obtain information and put it into perspective.   It is our responsibility--viewers, listeners--, not the reporting media, to evaluate what is presented and glean its value.  As thinking individuals we should be able to do this.  In retrospect, we are better for this airing of a situation that has been brewing all summer.  Now I hope this is the end of it.

Last night, I got to watch Beck. I haven't done that much lately. He was great. Of course, with someone that good against you the only thing to do is to blame the messenger.

On the positive side, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, they all protested the exclusion of FOX from the interview with the  "Pay Czar".  The media grew a pair!

Thanks for the story... This whole things reminds me of David and Goliath.

Well Fox has always been the mouthpiece of the Republicans as well as the conservative Christian Right. They wholly believe whatever Fox says like it was a message straight from God.

HINT HINT, it didn't come from God. In fact, I think Fox dupes the Christian Right by touting to be from a conservative standpoint, yet the same people in the Ivory tower of FOX, the same people who decide what news you and I see on FOX are the same minds that put out all the sleeze shows on FOX, such as Busted and Disgusted, My Bare Lady, Cheating Spouses caught on tape, World Famous for Dicking Around, Strip Search and at least 33 other disgusting titles.

So much for being on the Moral Right.

I suspected that Fox used this ploy to increase its failing viewer ratings. Of course they engineered the dispute.

Watch Jon Stewart - last nights episode, quite revealing as usual. :)

"Fox used this ploy to increase its failing viewer ratings"

That is funny!

Dr. Krauthammer, the Jewish psychiatrist who comments on FOX all the time is part of a "Christian conspiracy"?

Is Judge Napolitano, winner of an award from Reason Magazine for his libertarian views a part of the "right-wing Christian conspiracy"?

O'Reilly is a Catholic. Beck is a Mormon. Juan Williams is from NPR and some kind of Protestant. The guy in the morning came over from CNN. The Roll Call editor is an old-fashioned liberal.

Do you guys actually watch the very thing you comment on?

Is Mischief Night tonight? It is!

Firstly - Beck is positively nuts on-screen for the benefit of his viewers, whom some are as bad as him.

Secondly, if you should watch Stewart you will find that Fox themselves sent out a press release with the hours of 'news' - oddly, those in the 'news' are not the ones we see on the screen so much, though they do add to the 'unbiased' argument of Fox. The opinion-makers are.

Fox news is Murdoch news and indoctrinates quite successfully it seems.

Roy: Whether or not FOX News is more or less biased in its reporting than CNN, MSNBC (the network that recently turned a black man into a white man), and scores of other media outlets doesn't make any difference to those that can't see their way clear of political ideology. Obama is their substitute God! And they'll do anything and say anything in his defense no matter how ridiculous and irrational they sound in their defense of Obama.

Obama and his administration are nothing but far out in left field, with a hockey stick, cartoon characters that are engaged in a desperate attempt to hide their true agenda from the American people. And Obama, like all Saul Alinsky disciples, uses any means as a justification for the ends. Obviously Obama, as the Saul  Alinsky disciple that he is, is compelled to attack, marginalize, and personalize,  the messenger instead of responding to the message in an intelligent manner. In other words, Obama is not the sharpest knife in the draw and I think that the Democratic Party could have used a little more thought and foresight when it came to selecting a viable candidate for president.

I really liked the guy (Obama) at first. And I gave him the benefit of the doubt in spite of all the criticism that was directed at him. And I even defended him on occasion. But lets face it: The guy (Obama) is way out of his league and doesn't have a clue as to how to run the country . . . .

This crap directed at FOX  by the White House and the BS being fed by the Left is sickening and boring.  Perhaps many of you should use the remote control a lot more so you get off FOX.  Apparently you watch it a lot, since you know so much about it.  If you don't watch it the info about FOX must be hearsay.

The failing ratings by the way are with CNN.  FOX didn.t need White House help to raise its ratings.

I wonder if Chris Matthews still has a tinkle running down his leg?  Talk about hypocracy when someone talks about indoctrination.

I certainly hope we get some real news to discuss real soon, how shallow can we be to keep harping on this.

I.m sorry folks but if you didn.t know there is a war going on in Afghanistan, 48 Americans and 2 Canadians died this week and the discussion is around FOX News? and whether or not the Commander in Chief too a photo op.  My God.

ACP: The sad thing is that virtually all of the ideologues don't even make an effort to ascertain the facts for themselves. For them, truth is whatever is in vogue at the time. I can't imagine anything more pathetic and completely out of touch with reality than a political ideologue . . . .

Rory, you have my vote on that.  I really don.t shy away from a good debate and I.m fair when I do debate.  I am definitely not into bashing though.   This subject set me off after I published a story of yet another young Canadian soldier.

Well said ACP.  "They" love to spin....it raises their adrenalin.

I am a manic poster.  I post manically while I smoke.    I am bored with this issue and was from day one:  I don't watch FOX and I don't watch msnbc,  but I do smoke and watch news flash across my computer screen:   saw it pop up again, and posted it post haste.  No one need read it,  recommend it,  nor comment on it.  I have posted on Afghanistan,  & I read and appreciate  your posts on it.  I post on many issues:  the man killed by the FBI raid in Detroit;(which may not be what it appears on the surface,  and is extremely important,  in terms of democracy);  i posted as well on  certain proposed legislation.  I also moderate an international forum's philosophy section,  and write for Gnosis Arts Multimedia.  These things just come flying off the keyboard.  If Fox versus Obama pops up on the political forum,  it goes up here lickety split.   Also,  this clash is something which drives the culture in the US:  Hard to believe ,  but it affects many issues on the empirical level.

SMK: I completely disagree with you! If you think that the crap that Obama attempted to pull on FOX News is not important, then you need to smoke something different from what you're smoking. Put down the Marlboro 100 Lights ( a wild guess as to your brand on my part).I wrote the story because I truly believe that when a U.S. President singles out a specific news organization, and specific media personalities, a red flag needs to go up, and the insignificant creature that I am will fight for the cause . . . .

2
albertacowpoke

My comment was not directed at you SMK. You only put it out there.  What I was upset about is the BS being flogged in some of the comments. I really think there are more intelligent things to discuss.  Susan it is better to debate than accuse and clash.  I am not sure that this subject is worthy of debate, while we bypass the real issues, like Health Care, the Environment and yes the war in Afghanistan.

a211423

GOOD GRIEF! smk..........put down that cigarette!

We will stop talking just so you won't smoke!

I am tired of this topic now, and can we please talk about "real" issues?

3
a211423

not sure that this subject is worthy of debate

cowpoke

I am sure this subject has been hashed out enough and will welcome something else to talk about.

: )

And we don't want smk to smoke so much : (

2
albertacowpoke

Couldn't agree more, I must write a story on the evils of smoking, getting your heart rate up over FOX and the pleasure of a real debate.:)

marianmo

smoking isnt good for ones health...drives up healthcare costs and increases blood pressure, wish all would stop smoking. relax and live a long and happy life

2
albertacowpoke

marianmo would you like to be the co-author on that smoking story.  You could calculate the costs of health care for me and we can add it to the 1990 page bill.  YOur mission should you chose to accept it is to find out how many pages the Canada Health Act is.

marianmo:

Why would you want to see any of us live a long and healthy life? Lol!

1
albertacowpoke

It may have been anger, but I think it had to be said.  I had a lot of fun getting rid of my frustration over this old and boring FOX News story and finding out that smk smokes lol.
