The launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery, which was scheduled at 1:36 EDT on August 25th has been rescheduled.

The launch was scrubbed due to rain and lightning.

Discovery was to deliver a new Fridge and Furnace to the International Space Station.

The launch has been rescheduled for 1:10 am EDT on August 26th.

The previous shuttle Endeavour had six attempts before being launched.

NASA delayed a planned night launch of the space shuttle Discovery early Tuesday because of rain and lightning near the launch site.

Discovery was scheduled to launch at 1:36 a.m. ET from Cape Canaveral, Fla., on a 13-day flight to the International Space Station.

The space agency rescheduled the launch for 1:10 ET Wednesday.

Last month's Endeavour mission, carrying Canadian astronaut Julie Payette, was postponed several times because of bad weather at the launch site.

U.S. Comm. Rick Sturckow heads Discovery's crew of seven astronauts who will deliver almost 8,000 kilograms of equipment and supplies to the International Space Station during the mission.

It was so close too.  Tonight we try again.  The biggest problem with Florida is weather, especially on Merritt Island (KSC)

Yes they need enough clearance weather wise to make sure they can bring the shuttle back in case there is a problem at take off.
