DoD Operation Enduring Freedom Casualty Update as of 10am 24 Sept
Casualties during Operation Enduring Freedom have increased by 22 this week.
Another week has passed and while politics is the order of the day with the election campaign for the primaries and midterm elections at the door step, there are still soldiers and civilian paying the ultimate price.
This week saw the contents of Bob Woodward's book being released. Some of the details are not too endearing to the President. The assertion is made that there is a big divide in Administration and the President was more interested in politics (exit strategy) rather than a successful strategy.
Meanwhile in Iraq the deaths are up to four, two of them non-combat.
To date this year at least 504 US and NATO soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan, a record in the 9 year war.
This week another 22 U.S. soldiers were killed in Afghanistan. 10 were non combat deaths, including the nine that were killed in the Chinook helicopter crash one week ago.
