Doha Goals: a Forum about sports and its social impact
Sports legends such Carl Lewis, Ian Thorpe or Marie-Josee Perrec gathered during the Olympics at the Qatar house to launch the fist Doha GOALS Forum which will be held in Qatar next December.
The Doha Goals Forum is organized by Richard Attias, the global influencer who is behind international events like the Davos Economic Forum or, more recently, the New York Forum.
The Doha Goals forum is aimed at finding solution-oriented ideas about how to enhance sports social and economic impact. Sports legends like Carl Lewis, who won 9 gold Olympic medals, and Oscar Pistorius, the first amputee to compete in the Olympics, will be part of this event.
Doha GOALS is described as “the premier platform for world leaders to create opportunities and initiatives for growth and progress through sport and to stimulate real change”.
The forum will include plenary debates, conversations with champions and interactive small group discussions to elaborate a plan of actions. But Doha Goals will be much more than a three days forum.
It will create a community gathering hundreds of key influencers (athletes, policymakers, businessmen, NGOs…) working together to promote economic and social mobility through sport.
Actions will be implemented soon after the forum, like partnerships between NGO’s and students.
