NP Rank:
"Don't-Ask-Don't-Tell" Told to Go to Hell
Today U.S. District Judge Virgina Phillips issued an injunction to halt the enforcement of the US Military's "don't-ask-don't-tell" policy, effectively ending the ban on gays serving in the military. The Department of Justice has about 2 months to appeal this ruling, but I don't think that's likely to happen. So...I guess that's it(!).
With all of the insane gay-bashing and hate crimes surging in the last few weeks, this is great news for the LGBT community. I know there may be many out there that will be happy with this ruling, in spite of their disappointment in President Obama's so-called inaction on this issue. But Obama's support will be felt in the fact that he will allow the 60 day window of appeal to pass. Had this been any other president, I think they would be working to appeal this ruling IMMEDIATELY. In this case, I don't see that happening. I could be wrong...but I doubt it.
With idiots like Carl Paladino and Jim DeMint running their homophobic mouths, it's great to see that there are some people with the power and the will to do what's right. The last thing this country needs right now is more divisive rhetoric. At a time when our country is inching closer and closer to Third World status, we all really need to come together to help solve this country's problems-- ESPECIALLY when it comes to ending this goddamn war in Afghanistan. How many exceptional military personnel were let go because of their sexual orientation? It's sickening that we tend to give bigots so much sway in our national discourse. The last thing we need are more intellectually impotent people pretending they have "values". I don't think "hate" is an exceptional value. Do you?
I know there are people out there that will be absolutely outraged over this ruling. Good. Let them be. Personally, I'm sick of intolerant blowhards and emotionally stunted cretins getting their way. I'm sick of this country being held back by the wrong kinds of people. And as long as we continue to allow hate-mongers an open forum, while the rest of us are trying to have a rational discourse...we'll never be as great as we used to be.
And make no mistake, bigots-- you're a dying breed. The people of this nation have proven time and time again that ignorance only makes us weak. Granted, it takes us a while to get to do the right thing...but eventually, we do.
So there!

You really think its all of the "extremist" homophobes out there that are causing the problem in america? boy do you have your thinking backwards. Its the atheistic faggots that are polluting everyones minds and taking over all your rights and liberties! But hey, the blind shall never see so go on wallowing in your sin until the Judgement Day you despicable bastard dogs... Maybe you all should get a taste of reality and stop thinking like one. Can you honestly say you would be glad that your child CHOSE to be gay because of the influences of television and school that make them feel like an outcast, thus succumbing to the pressures of helplessness and decide to be gay because everyone else is doing it so hey its ok to be gay... haha ignorant knot-heads, you make me sick! You say we are a dying breed (btw, did you know the term bigot is derived from german, as the germans used to say "bi Gott" which means "by God") but I say nay. I say you push us any further to the breaking point and there will be consequences. You can only push a people so far before they wise up and start to rebel and that is exactly what is starting to happen.

I stopped reading this bullshit at "atheistic faggots". If I read any more of this filth, my brain cell count may drop to comatose levels. It's funny how the religious types are the most hateful. Nothing they think or say is very "Christ-like", is it? I think maybe if they read a few more things other than their bible-babble (purposefully written in lower-case), maybe their intelligence level would increase a few notches. But maybe this "Areyoureallythatblind?" person has had one too many special visits with priests in his childhood.
And again, with the "not-verified" cowards...you're always the ones that have the dumbest things to say, yet you say it under this veil...so no one can get back to you to let you know what they think of you. It's like yelling "nigger" from a speeding car-- it's something you'd NEVER say to someone's face, because you're simply too scared to be known. That's why the Klan wore hoods after all...
Like I said before: bigots are a dying breed.

You paint Christians with a broad brush. Well, I'm a Christian, and I don't hate "gays." What I have a problem with is how you all want to blame us for your misery. If you're really that unhappy and miserable, then stop doing what you are doing. Take responsibility for yourself. Own up to your part in your misery. I get it. As long as you can blame others, you take the spotlight off of yourself. Yes, Jesus hung out with prostitutes and tax collectors. He ministered to them, but he didn't become one of them. If Christians really hated homosexuals, we wouldn't be trying so hard to get you to turn away from your sin and get saved. In fact, it's quite the opposite. We do what we do because we do care. If you want to reject Christianity, as well as Jesus Christ, say so. No skin off my nose. You are the one who will stand before Christ and suffer the consequences of your actions, not me. I'm just sorry for you that homosexuality doesn't offer the same kind of peace, happiness, and joy that truly being saved through Christ Jesus does, but then he did say, "You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free." Is that the reason homosexuals are so angry and hostile towards Christians: because deep down inside you know that what you are doing is wrong? Sin isn't necessarily doing something wrong; it is separation from God. I know what that feels like, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I'll be praying for you. When you derive your self esteem from the real source, and not from what other people think, then you will find true peace and happiness. Jesus is the answer.

Uh, I think you missed a major point here, and forgive me if I wasn't clear...but I'm straight. Never been gay, don't plan on being gay.
Now that THAT is out of the way-- it's funny to me how you can say "I don't hate 'gays'" (and you even used quotes-- for whatever reason...), then you continue to berate homosexuals for being who they are. "If you're really that unhappy and miserable, then stop what you are doing." Right. In other words, if you don't want to be persecuted, let the bigots have their way. I mean, not to be a jerk...but that is one of the dumbest things I've ever read. That would be like telling a Black person 100 years ago-- "If you don't like the lynchings and the racism, then stop being Black!" I can't believe you would actually consider that line of thinking to be remotely logical.
Again with the hate-filled religious folks! "You are the one who will stand before Christ," says Jinger Jarrett (not verified), "and suffer the consequences of your actions, not me." It's amazing to me how an ideology that preaches love, acceptance, and understanding can be so narrow-minded, hateful, ignorant, and disrespectful.
So I guess we are all God's children...except for the kykes, the rag-heads, and the faggots, right? Typical, not only of the religious, but of the "not verified".

Since liberal radicals have had so much "freedom" to wish death to U.S. troops overseas, calling them "killers" and such, does that mean that it now becomes an equal freedom to wish that gays in the military get killed, too? -- I mean, that IS only fair & equal, right, and since the radical left has been allowed freedom to express their views, we mustn't be hypocrites, right? (- Somehow, my dear Watson, I think it shall all be censored.)

Dude, where do you get your "news"? The ONLY group that wishes death to U.S. Troops is the Westboro Baptist Church-- MORE conservative, religious assholes.
When are you "not verified" defects going to get your heads out of your asses? I've tried really hard to be kind about this, but you know what? Your God hates "stupid" more than anything else. So guess where you idiots are going?
