President Barack Obama, Pentagon leaders and even former Vice President Dick Cheney think it's time to end the "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays in the military. But a repeal is probably years away.

The gay ban will be ended

but it will take a long time.

A tear of study would go to

the middle of next year. By

then the 2012 election will

be starting up.Democrats would

not want to pass this in an

election year. 2013 is the most

likely time for it to pass.
