Don't Panic!

Well first we had the financial melt down, the problem started when USA property prices went sky high and properties were used as security for loans. The property market bottom fell out. The value of property tumbled and the paper money security on loans became practically worthless. The hype caused panic and the dominos fell and the panic caused a global recession.

Then we now have swine flue, but of course this has a knock on effect caused by avian flue in Asia, especial in China. It's a been suggested by statistics that if a virus is able to pass from animals to humans that the virus strain weakens into a normal flue epidemic and not as death threatening as it is to the first host or hosts that caught the bug from the animal such as birds and pigs. But of course the media goes at full tilt and finds every scare angle and every method to wring the worst of the worst from story at hand. This of course starts panic.

The problem is if there is a real death threatening pandemic all the preparation took wouldn't not be sufficient, to contain the first and second wave of infection. If the virus strain was highly infectious and there was very low immunity. But one good thing about the Avian and Swine flue is at least more precautions can be taken and more effort being placed in identifying possible out breaks. Plus better preparation for the possibility of real causes of concern and a real reason to panic.

Terrorism is the best source of panic related news and the media is great at hyping all sources of bad news. Unfortunately our lives will be affected by the unnecessary panic related news. But the world must listen as we really may have a little boy with his finger on the leak in the dyke crying "Flood!"

Its actually hard not to panic, when the know facts about a set problem are not presented fully or know at the on set of the news warnings. The global meltdown could have been stopped before it happened by the US administration it just needed the property mortgage sector propped up with same funding and help presented in the present bailout solution.

The swine flue panic could have been stopped if the full explanation that virus crossing from animals to humans normally weaken when past by the first human host to the second human host. Of course WHO is using the panic for funding and scare government world wide to take up more prevention against the real threat and the real pandemic that may rear its ugly head?

At present time of events my advice is Don't Panic!

Or take the advice of a good friend of mine of whom stated not so long ago to me the following.

"Since I stop reading newspapers and turn channels over at new time the world has become a less stressful place for me to live in."

If I could give advice to the media it would be don't try to cause panic and print all the correct facts. But of course that does not sell news. However maybe some citizen journalist that read this article may heed my sensible advice. Please fellow writers don't add to the panic.

Good old guidebook to the ... Don't Panic.

This is just a normal natural reaction against overpopulation.

yep and now you need to learn to make igloo sky scrapers and dig biger fall out shelters to help meet the needs in your neck of the global wood. Of course over population is always a problem in freezing cold climates. Cuddling to keep warm always turns into a steamy romantic situation. Suggest more stocks of condoms in each igloo? lol

We should not panic! "H1N1 is imminent" the right way is how? to prevent it...

In a televised address Mexican President Felipe Calderon urged peoples to help fight the H1N1(Swine Flu) by staying put over the forthcoming five-day holiday weekend...

“There is no place as safe for protecting yourself against swine flu as your own home,” he said.

The government said the ultimate cost to Mexico from the crisis could be up to 0.5 percent of gross domestic product (GDP)—as much as $70 billion.

In addition to the airline and travel sectors, which were already suffering from the global economic downturn, pig farmers in many places have been hit hard by the swine flu crisis. ( source: http://www.manilatimes.net/national/2009/may/01/yehey/top_stories/20090501top1.html)

Scientists believe that somewhere in the world, months or even a year ago, a pig virus transfer to a human and mutated, and has been spreading persons to person, ever since. Unlike with bird flu, doctors have no evidence suggesting a direct pig-to-human infection from this strain, which is why they haven’t recommended killing pigs.

Antiviral drugs are prescription medicines (pills, liquid or an inhaler) with activity against influenza viruses, including swine influenza viruses. Antiviral drugs can be used to treat swine flu or to prevent infection with swine flu viruses. These medications must be prescribed by a health care professional. Influenza antiviral drugs only work against influenza viruses -- they will not help treat or prevent symptoms caused by infection from other viruses that can cause symptoms similar to the flu. (source: http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/antiviral.htm)  THANKS! Babel for the story...  :D
