RAWALPINDI, Jan 09 : Dr Abdul Qadir Khan, founder of nuclear programme, said on Saturday that he could give a better educational system to the country and solution to other crises but his six precious years were wasted.Addressing the Rawalpindi Bar Association here, he said that there are basic problems in the country irking the general public but the government and the people are giving no attention to these matters.

He strongly criticized the educational system and the government policies in this field and its strategy about energy crisis. He said he was ready to exchange his experiences about education, energy and other issues confronting the country.“We can bring a rapid change in our educational system if we think seriously about this issue. Unfortunately the government set up commissions to evolve policies but in later it is confined to only file work”, he said.

About the energy crisis, he said there are various means to resolve the crisis but non- technical people present in this field can never settle this problem.Dr A.Q Khan said that he had offered many times his services for the country welfare but no one was ready to welcome his suggestion saying, “It seems that every one has full control of his work and feel no need for consultation”.

He said that he had studied for 15 years in the Europe and other foreign countries and got a huge experience in various fields along with his own field and can give guidance and assistance in many fields. He gave an example of Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute which was founded by former President Ghulam IShaq and other notable personalities who largely contributed to this education achievement.

Dr AQ Khan said that he hoped the judiciary would never take those decisions which could harm the country and people’s interests. He also urged the administration to avoid any clash with media and said it was the media who shook hand with lawyers in their movement for free judiciary. He praised the journalists for bringing people’s problem on media and urged them to work for betterment of the country adding, “Media is backbone of any country and there is no successful country without an affective media force”.

About the manner of Indian government and other countries towards Pakistan, he said no one can cast an evil eye towards Pakistan. He further said Pakistan had gained the nuclear capability 15 years early than India.  He held responsible the common man for serving the masses more than the government saying “Most of the problems are created by masses itself by their bad practices like adulteration, cheating, foxy and other fake activities”.He urged the nation to be sincere with the country because no country would give shelter to them in bad days and there would be no way to escape except the Indian Sea.
