The drug wars continue in Mexico.  The latest count has a body count of 16.  Some of the dead are suspected are thought  to be drug cartel criminals, one is a police officer and others are teenagers.  Information released by the Federal Public Safety Department said the shootout started when a report of kidnapping at a shopping centre in Torreon,  Juarez.  Shooting started in the shopping centre then moved to a highway.

In the border city of Ciudad Juarez, state police said they have detained a suspect in the killings of 16 people, many of them teenagers who had gathered for a party on Saturday.

Ten people were found dead at the scene and six died at hospitals.

The drug wars in Mexico have killed many in the past few years, with estimates of over 15 000 deaths attributed to the criminal gangs.  Two gangs mentioned in the latest blood bath were the Zetas and the La Familia gangs.

The ongoing drug wars in Mexico have had a negative effect on the tourist industry in Mexico with many shying away from cheap holidays in the sun.

Mexico is a toilet and a failed state and that is getting worse by the day. The country will be a war zone within a year or two. Drug gangs will morph into armies and the place will be like Lebanon in the 70s and 80s. US troops will have to go in 50 miles across the border to secure it in order to protect the US. Stay tuned!
