Dumbest Government Announcement Yet %&@!!!
This is laughable. The strategy of focusing police resources at preventing the precurser chemicals from entering Canada is completely useless. The single most important chemical used in the manufacture of meth and "E" is ephedrine HCL. In the US this chemical is highly regulated and tightly controlled. In Canada it is legal, widely available in almost unlimited qualtities and is MADE IN CANADA!
Ephedrine HCL is sold at suppliment stores (look up 4everfit.com). You can purchase 50 8mg tabs for under $10 retail. In one such store, located in Metro Vancouver, they routinely sell this suppliment by the CRATE! Go look up who really owns your local suppliment store or hardcore gym. Gangsters do! What better way to hide their own purchases and use of this chemical than to say you are a retailer.
The minister might want to do some more research before wasting our tax dollars lining the border looking for people importing this chemical when it is more likely to be exported FROM Canada. Duh!.
MONTREAL — The federal Conservatives are launching an initiative to battle the production and distribution of illicit drugs, Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan announced Tuesday.
The minister said police and the RCMP will use new tactics and new resources to combat organized crime and gangs.
Investigators will keep an eye focused on illegal synthetic drugs, specifically ecstasy and methamphetamine, Van Loan announced while standing alongside Justice Minister Rob Nicholson in Montreal.
RCMP will work with local police forces, Health Canada and the Canadian Border Services agency to develop a "full-court press," RCMP deputy commissioner of federal policing Raf Souccar said at the announcement.
This is the first time a national drug strategy will focus specifically on a single class of drugs, Van Loan said.
The RCMP-led "synthetic drug initiative" will allow police to use their resources to prevent the chemicals used in manufacturing the drugs from ever entering Canada.
