Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Dutch government has agreed to provide 600,000-700,000 euros, the equivalent of Rp10.43 billion, in aid to promote human resources of the Agriculture Quarantine Board under an Indonesian facility project (INDF) scheme.
The 18-month old project would start in May 2008 and end in August 2009, Head of the Agriculture Quarantine Board Syukur Iwantoro said here on Thursday.
"The project is aimed at creating a system of developing and controling fresh and processed vegetable and animal food products so that they can enter export destination countries," he said after signing a cooperation agreement with Wageningen International RIKILT, VWA, Lyod of the Netherlands.
He expressed hope that in the next two years, Indonesian quarantine personnel would be able to improve their skills to control the quality of export and imported goods.
The security standards of Indonesia`s fresh food products would follow the international standards set by the Codex Alimentarius Commission, he said.
