Dutch Tourist Killed by Elephant at National Park in Assam

Robert William Gold Brake, a tourist from Netherland was killed in an attack by a wild elephant at Panbari range of  Kaziranga National Park(KNP) in Golaghat distict of Assam yesterday. Robert william was about 60 years old. According to the information,the tourist with another eight tourists,four from UK, three from Netherland and one from Australia set out for tracking to watch birds and other animals in the park with few forest gaurds. After covering a few distance,the troupe encountered with a heard of wild elephants and one of the elephant attacked Robert while he was busy in taking photographs.The forest gaurds of the KNP discharged blank fire to save the troupe and though the others were managed to do so.It may be mentioned that in March 2001,a woman tourist from UK was alo killed by Jumbos in Kohara range of KNP and this is the second such incident occured at this national park.
