I got the idea to paint my new suitcase from this person:

...the back of mine's still blank. I can't think of anything to put on such a large space.
The painting was done with Basic brand acrylic paints. Anything that could be stenciled was -to give a basic outline of a form, then it needed to be painted over by hand because the lines were never very straight due to the fabric moving, etc.
Overall it was fairly easy to do. And should make spotting my luggage pretty easy!
