Ed Shultz Blasts New Healthcare Bill

When I first tuned to MSNBC and saw the Ed Show, I asked myself, who the hell is Ed? I looked him up and his credentials are a lot like a liberal Glen Beck or Rush Limbaugh. What’s the difference, liberal or conservative, the credentials do not give me confidence that I should care what they have to say. So, mostly, I don’t.

But, this evening, I heard Ed say that he read part of the House Healthcare Bill and it just didn’t hold water for him. It did not give him confidence that costs would be reduced and that people would receive equal to or better healthcare. So, the legislation is a failure that lies at the President’s feet served up on a Pelosi doormat. He indicated that the bill did not deliver and I added the Pelosi part.

Mr. President, you can’t keep waving this off as someone else’s sausage. This is yours and it’s coming up fatty and grisly. You can watch the Senate kick this nightmare around while losing more ground to Republicans or, you can do more than parade to the Hill for a round of cheerleading. Call a meeting of your brightest folks to work on the legislation that America needs.

Pack up the preferred product and go to the Hill to sell the real deal. Do that and you will have delivered the change we can believe in. Anything less, and you may as well look for another community to organize.
