Police Are Now Saying the Deaths of the Four People Found in the Edmonton House That Exploded Are Being Treated as Suspicious

The body of a woman who has not been identified to the media was found amongst the debris of the house that exploded in northern Edmonton on Sunday. Three other people were also killed in the blast that destroyed two houses and forced the evacuation of about 40 people. The blast was so strong that about 28 homes sustained damage such as blown-out windows and fallen tree branches.

The house was owned by Dwayne Poirer and was located at 91st Street and 180A Avenue as reported by the CBC.

Two of the victims have been identified as Brad Winter, 26 and Craig Huber, 30; both men lived next door to the house that exploded. A woman and a three-year-old boy escaped from the same house.

"The deaths are being treated as suspicious," acting police chief Darryl da Costa told reporters Monday. The blast was not caused by an explosive device or a drug lab, he said, adding the investigation is still ongoing.

When the house exploded many neighbors ran out of their homes to help and said the house was gone and half of the house next door was destroyed.

Residents do not know when they will be allowed to go back to their homes, but no unnatural chemicals have been detected in the area reports the CBC.
